Good for learning basics

My son used the Write Activity and Browse Activity on Sugarizer the other day. It was pretty simple for him to figure out. He usually struggles with new programs but this one just clicked. The web version is nice because I didn't have to install anything, just opened it in a browser. It did take a few minutes to load the first time, but after that, it ran smoothly.

Love Turtle Blocks!

I downloaded Turtle Blocks for my kids and they absolutely love it! The interface is so intuitive, even for my youngest. It kept them engaged for hours. I'll definitely be exploring more activities from Sugar Labs!

I recently explored the Sugar Learning Platform for a home-school project. The installation process for Sugar on a Stick was well-documented on their site; I had it running on an old laptop in about 20 minutes. I tested several activities, including Turtle Art, Music Tam-Tam, and the Calculate Activity. Turtle Art was very engaging for my 9-year-old, offering a visual way to understand programming concepts. Music Tam-Tam was fun but a bit simplistic for an older child. The Calculate Activity worked as expected. I did notice that some activities, like the Physics Activity, took a little longer to load than others, but once they were up, they ran fine. The overall design is clearly focused on child-friendly interaction, which is a big plus. Support resources were easy to find online, though I didn't need to contact anyone directly. It's a robust set of tools for free.
